Counseling Not Criminalization
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
The primary function of the working group is to develop the strategy for reintroduction and co-sponsorship of the Counseling Not Criminalization in Schools Act. It will also work to develop additional strategies around external communication and advocacy, executive and administrative advocacy, and local mobilization of community partners to foster alignment and support of the legislation, as well as push for police free schools.
Our Work
We recognize the federal government has not been held accountable and is not being accountable to students, most especially Black and Brown students. We will not waver on PoliceFreeSchools nor allow federal “siloing” nor accept "outside your purview" arguments from federal agencies, this administration, schools, districts or Congress.
FedSDC is not in the business of having "one and done" meetings or projects. We expect to build an open and clear channel of communication with the federal government and bring local perspectives to the table. In addition, we collaborate with grassroots organizations as a full coalition and within our various working groups to ensure we are accountable to grassroots perspectives, local demands, and the will of the people in Black and Brown communities who are demanding police free schools.
